Re: [WICG/webcomponents] "open-stylable" Shadow Roots (#909)

I am absolutely with @bahrus  `<slots>` could have been implemented in light DOM, too, easily, now that they are in place in the shadow DOM. Slots is the only missing piece for using web components with the light DOM. Templates and slots are brilliant even without template instantiation. If we had slots in light DOM we could excellently use custom elements with existing popular well-established CSS libraries like Bootstrap. I think, it  was too-much of an opinionated decision of the designers to implement slots only in the shadow DOM. mandating hard-core encapsulation. This fact alone makes the community diversified, 80% of web developers are not really willing to jump on the web component's band-wagon.
