Re: [w3ctag/design-reviews] Digital Goods API (#571)

Hi, sorry for the delay!

1. We expect to see 2-3 stores added.
2. Right now only Google Play is involved. I believe there have been talks with at least one other store.
3. Each browser may support different stores.
4. Currently only Chrome has expressed interest.

I agree that entrenching "big player" stores is a concern surrounding this API, as it provides support for a few (currently just 1) major stores. As I mentioned in the 1st March reply, [this API exists because big stores aren't motivated to provide a web-friendly API](https://github.com/WICG/digital-goods/issues/5#issuecomment-634492883) (and we can't directly control that) but web apps are motivated to be in these stores, which can only be done with help from the UA (which we can change). By contrast, stores that are actually looking to sell digital goods on the web can set up REST endpoints and don't need to rely on UA support (therefore immediately working on any UA+OS). So lack of support in this API doesn't actually prevent other stores from functioning.

_Digital Goods Inventory API_ seems like a reasonable name to me. I'll discuss it with others here.
