However, Saxon-HE/C is open source: you wouldn't have support for all features (e.g. schema awareness), but I don't think those would be missed for this purpose. Of course, there may be other reasons why it's not doable (licensing issues), and I'm not qualified to comment on implementation. I certainly don't want to talk for Chrome, despite aspersions to the contrary.
