Re: [whatwg/streams] better-assert is broken (#985)

We previously used `assert`, but switched to `better-assert` so we could pinpoint where the assert happened without needing to manually supply assert messages.

It doesn't look like https://github.com/devinrhode2/better-assert-browser will work in our environment, so probably we'll just have to switch back to `assert`.
