@nekr that is my understanding as well.  Seems odd that they would be against having some sort of API for installing web apps..that **requires** some sort of user-initiated action, like a `<button>` click.  I'm curious why Mozilla thinks its "not needed", when in fact, developer support seems to be quite high.

as @marcoscaceres stated:
