Okay, could you help by providing a translation of those algorithms to a set of correspondence rules, like the one you stated above, that scheme `https` = protocol `https:`. I wonder how that rule applies. The scheme is always followed by ":", so from that rule, it looks like the definition of `protocol` just includes the ":" instead of appending it. If that's correct, that's fine; we do need to represent such relationships correctly.
