If this is basically implemented by all browsers I think we need pretty wide agreement to remove it again. It's also a little worrying the number one use case from roc for this wasn't even considered.

It seems best to proceed with maintaining the specification assuming this stays around and only if we find compelling evidence to remove it in terms of usage numbers and complexity reduction, and have widespread agreement among implementers, proceed with this proposal.
