The title of this issue is: _The is="" attribute is confusing_ And after so many years of something already shipped in a browser and widely used for those pragmatic developers, who thinks that _repurposing_ it is a good idea? It'll be even more confusing for who use it already, and it will break code and intents for what's already out in production.
