The title of this issue is: _The is="" attribute is confusing_

And after so many years of something already shipped in a browser and widely used for those pragmatic developers, who thinks that _repurposing_ it is a good idea?

It'll be even more confusing for who use it already, and it will break code and intents for what's already out in production.

I'm looking at you Polymer, AMP, and friends.
