I'm not sure if this has already been considered or not. In case it hasn't, here goes Right now the splash screen consists of an image and a background. That background is a plain background with a single color. I would propose having an option to define an SVG file to serve as the background of the splash screen, essentially replacing the need for the background color for the splash screen (and maybe even the icons for the purpose of the splash screen).
