Sure, but given the [lack of browser consistency around microtasks](https://jakearchibald.com/2015/tasks-microtasks-queues-and-schedules/), the breakage might be insignificant.

I don't have strong feelings here, but if there was a desire to avoid creating yet another thing in the event loop, it might be possible.
