@noncombatant, that is a fine ideal. I also don't like seeing stuff like this happen on load. If a page wants to have its "Call Alice" button also navigate can detect (using this wonderful permissions API) if it can grab a camera on load and do that if that makes sense. I wonder, do we treat same-origin navigation as implying that a popup is permitted?
