@RByers I really just don't think it makes sense to ship that kind of polyfill with a browser. You've found one library (a Google library!) which directly exposes the scrolling element. Because they've purposefully added such complexity, it seems totally reasonable for them to eat it and ship the few lines necessary for non-IE4/IE7 support. Others can use much simpler tricks that have been cited in this thread. That said, I'm not the one on the ground here, and if you really think this'll make a difference (although IMO Closure really should not count), then maybe I'm just wrong.

Anyway, I think I've expressed my opinion enough on this thread, especially since I'm just ex-TAG. We'll let others chime in.
