RE: Welcome to the Web & AI Interest Group (WebAI) - Please introduce yourselves.

Hi Fabien and WebAI Interst Group,

I am Mihai Maftei, researcher at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), with main focus on ethical and responsible development of AI systems. I also act as an EU Expert Evaluator for AI research at the European Commission – European Research Executive Agency, and as member of the steering committee of the Big Data Value Association’s Ethical and Trustworthy AI initiative (BDVA-etami).

My interests focus on the ethics of AI and on responsible, but actionable frameworks for its deployment. I am interested in the Ethical Principles for Web Machine Learning, and in exploring the ethical challenges related to Web & AI and how to mitigate/overcome them.

Looking forward to being part of this conversation!
