Dear all, Next week for our regular Web Agents CG meeting will be at this time: https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1739433600 The connection details are available from: https://www.w3.org/groups/cg/webagents/calendar/ Our main point of discussion will be the AgentNetworkProtocol (ANP) that will be introduced by Gaowei Chang who will kickstart the discussion with a preliminary talk and presentation. *Title:* AgentNetworkProtocol (ANP): An Open-Source Protocol for Agent Identity and Agent Descriptions *Abstract:* AgentNetworkProtocol (ANP) is an open-source protocol specifically designed for agent communication scenarios. GitHub repository: https://github.com/chgaowei/AgentNetworkProtocol. This talk will cover the following topics: 1. What are the core principles behind ANP's design, and how do we envision the Agentic Web? 2. How ANP achieves decentralized agent identity authentication based on DID while supporting scalability for billions of users. 3. The implementation of 0RTT interaction in ANP's identity authentication process and how it differs from existing cross-platform identity authentication methods. 4. The design of ANP's agent description specification and how it improves consistency in data interpretation between agents. 5. Using the agent description specification to link agent data into a network that is easily accessible by agents. Finally, we will demonstrate how an intelligent assistant and a coffee shop agent use ANP to complete a coffee purchase. *Short bio of the proposers:* This presentation is a collaboration between Gaowei Chang and James Waugh, who is also a developer of the ANP protocol. Gaowei Chang, with over a decade of experience in designing and developing communication protocols, has previously worked at Taobao and Alibaba Cloud Computing and now runs an AI Agent infrastructure technology company. Their mission is to define the connectivity between agents and build an open, secure, and efficient collaborative network for billions of agents. James Waugh is an entrepreneur, product designer, and community builder developing adaptive multi-agent systems. He actively contributes to various open-source projects including NEAR AI and Agent Network Protocol. Over the past decade, James has been at the forefront of web3, pioneering decentralized governance and advancing the concept of the internet of agents.
