A correction to what I said during the call on workerStart: It seems like workerStart is not actually implemented on a dedicated worker in Chrome, it's only implemented on a sharedWorker. A quick test over Chrome, Firefox and Safari showed that none support it on a dedicated worker. Assuming that IE doesn't either, that means that the road is clear to change that value.
