Great, let's do that.

Thanks, Nigel

Hi Nigel,

How about 11-11:30 tomorrow morning - after the first coffee break?

We can meet in our Auditorium IV, First Floor.

OK?

Thanks,

[Deliberately cross posting to Web and TV IG and TTWG]

Hi Mark,

Thank you for this.

We'll set our schedule first thing on Monday morning and let you know; conversely we therefore have flexibility if you would like to propose a particular session that would work well in your schedule. We would like to bring:

  1. An update on our work in the TTWG, including IMSC 1, TTML2 and WebVTT, and mapping between TTML and WebVTT. (Nigel Megitt, BBC - co–Chair of TTWG)
  2. How to get better implementations of different caption formats supported in HTML5, e.g. using a TextTrackCue that's better suited to generic use rather than just VTT. (Andreas Tai, IRT)
  3. An update on usage of TTML for live contribution from author or playout to encoder, including spec and open source implementation work done by the EBU, following on from last year's closed BBC prototype demonstration (Nigel Megitt).

30 minutes should cover this, though we may need a little longer if interesting discussions arise. If time allows we may also be able to raise a short point on audio (video) description requirements.

Kind regards,

Nigel

Subject: Re: Joint meeting at TPAC with Timed Text Working Group

Hi Nigel,

I proposed the following overall schedule for the Web & TV IG:

On Sep 7, 2016, at 2:06 AM, Vickers, Mark <Mark_Vickers@comcast.com<mailto:Mark_Vickers@comcast.com>> wrote:

Monday (08:30 start - 10:00 coffee break, Auditorium IV): HME WG & Web & TV IG joint meeting (all attendees from both groups):
1. HME summarizes EME & MSE v1 and v2 spec status & implementation status (25 min.)
2. Web&TV IG summarizes IG Task Force work (Cloud Browser TF, GGIE TF) (25 min.)
- Note that both TFs have EME/MSE v2 impacts
3. EME & MSE v1 vs. Web & TV IG requirements (40 min.)

Monday (11:00 - 18:00, Auditorium IV): IG-related sub-meetings
- Cloud Browser Task Force
- GGIE Task Force?
- Timed Text WG requested joint meeting
- TV Control WG requested joint meeting
- ...

As you can see, we really only have a 90 minute plenary session, but we allocated the rest of the day for individual group meetings, including the Timed Text WG requested joint meeting. We just need to allocate the time slots now.

Also, do you have an agenda for the joint meeting? This would help bring people to that time slot.

Thanks,
mav

All, but mainly Chairs,

The Timed Text Working Group would like to share 30 minutes of agenda time visiting the Web and TV IG at TPAC – please could a Chair contact me about scheduling?

Kind regards,

Nigel
