The W3C is launching the Web & TV Testing Task Force and is calling for all interested W3C parties to sign up for participation. As it is anticipated that commercial products will be based on W3C specifications, the need to test products for compliance with the standards and interoperability with other compliant products is increasingly important. The Web & TV Testing Task Force is part of the Web & TV Interest Group. The Task Force is responsible for developing testing requirements specific to Web & TV applications. The focus is expected to be on HTML5 and associated specifications. The Task Force will work with the Web Testing Interest Group, the Browser Testing and Tools Working Group, the HTML WG HTML Test Suite task force, and other relevant W3C groups to ensure that Web & TV requirements are met by the W3C testing framework. It is expected that the task force will meet on a weekly basis initially and may adjust its meeting schedule as its needs change. I suggest we have an initial kick-off meeting on January 29th at 2:00 pm (mountain time). I think that's 22:00 in Europe and 6:00 in Korea and Japan. Hopefully, most people would not have to be up in the wee hours of the morning. I'll keep the meeting to under an hour. We'll vote on a regular meeting time. If you wish to participate, please enter your name, company and e-mail address on the task force wiki dashboard at http://www.w3.org/2011/webtv/wiki/Testing#Participants. Thanks, Clarke Stevens W3C Web&TV Testing TF moderator
