Friday meeting updates

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I’m going to be on a flight this Friday so I won’t be able to join (and probably not on 11th or 18th either).

However, the good news is that we’re in the early stages of starting the new WCAG2 issues task force.

We have asked Michael Gower and Bruce Bailey to lead this TF, and I’m very glad they accepted.

The TF won’t officially start until we switch charter, hopefully at the end of August when 2.2 is published.

We do already have an email list (CCed), which if you aren’t on you can join here:
https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-wcag2-issues/

The Friday meetings don’t need me to proceed, if you don’t have the zoom link it is in the calendar:
https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/fdbff191-ae2e-48ee-87d7-37b2b20c653a/20230804T110000/
(Login to get the link, it might change soon as we transition from mit to w3c zoom links.)

We may have one or two more surveys going to the AG group before we switch, so we can still stack up suitable issues for that.
However, we can adjust the process for the TF to make it more optimised (e.g. not use surveys), and hopefully remove me as a bottleneck. I’ll still be involved, but with TF leadership we can adjust things.

That’s open for discussion, but if it goes in circles because there are too many unknowns, we can talk about it when I’m back.

Kind regards,

-Alastair
