Hello all,
Here's a summary of the work needed for Guideline 1.2:
* Guide documents for:
* L1 SC1 (captions) - in the works, Loretta
* L1 SC2 (audio descriptions)
* L2 SC1 (live captions) - in the works, Loretta
* L3 SC1 (sign language)
* L3 SC2 (extended audio descriptions)
* L3 SC3 (live audio descriptions)
* 15 issues [1]
* 2 editorial notes [2]
When I was working on the proposals and issue summary for guideline 1.2 I
found the following resources helpful and had assumed they would be
referenced in the guide documents for this guideline:
* captioning key: guidelines and preferred techniques - captioned media
program (2004) [3]
* list of other resources from CMP [4]
* understanding media-access terminology, joe clark (2001) [5]
* national captioning institute [6]
* Guideline 2 - Provide access to multimedia presentations for users
with sensory disabilities., WGBH [7] - contains definitions, general
techniques and technology-specifics for audio description and captioning
[especially extended audio description - one of the only resources for that]
* Standard techniques in audio description, Joe Clark (2001) [8]
* AD guidelines draft, Audio Description International (2005) [9]
Also, I'll dig up the issue summaries and other information that I have
previously sent to the list about this guideline.
Best,
--wendy
