Hi ACT TF, Good to chat with you all yesterday. In yesterday’s conversation there was an action item set to start to locate / collate similar frameworks to the one we are looking to create. Having spent the morning looking at other framework type documents, I have to say I like - IEEE Standard for Software and System Test Documentation – 829-2008 (which I have come across through ISTQB Software Tester exams). http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:ifM79xsFoloJ:faculty.ksu.edu.sa/mohamedbatouche/SWE%2520434/IEEE%2520Std%2520829%2520-%25202008.pdf+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk We’d be focused on “Acceptance Tests / Testing” in particular, with regard to accessibility conformance testing, as we’re almost entirely interested in testing the DOM states. Especially see – 11. Level Test Case 12. Level Test Case Procedure I think there are several things we could pick and choose from a document such as this – to form a more concise framework for Accessibility test creators. We also need to think about how people can show they conform with the framework we might create – see Appendix of 829 for suggestions. Then we’d really need to build up a definition of what good practice would be for writing test cases / acceptance tests e.g. http://quicksoftwaretesting.com/test-case-writing-tips/ [I like – “easily understandable, legible and to-the-point.”] http://www.seapine.com/papers/test-case-writing-best-practices Also, we might want to stipulate using: “Positive” testing for testing the correct implementation of Techniques; or “Negative” testing for testing for failures. Obviously, failures coming first. I also, looked at the following – which are broadly similar: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_29119#ISO.2FIEC.2FIEEE_29119-4_.28Part_4.29_-_Test_Techniques http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:YoUtFUkDpjEJ:homes.ieu.edu.tr/userhat/courses/SE344_Fall_2015-2016/ISO_IEC_IEEE_29119_Part3.pdf+&cd=9&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk http://www.testingstandards.co.uk/Component%20Testing.pdf Please note: I’ve assumed that all the organizations hosting the documents linked to above, have a license to provide these documents publically.
