Hi Detlev Sure wish I understood German. I don't suppose the report has an English equivalent? I'm looking forward to when the English version of the test is available. Regards Vivienne L. BITV-Test is based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA (with minor deviations such as the inclusion of AAA-Level SC "2.4.8 Position"). It provides a hands-on, tried and tested procedure for expert evaluation with references to tools (e.g., Web tool bars) and support for the interpretation of check results. Test steps also reference WCAG techniques and failures. Here is a more detailed English description of BITV-Test: http://www.bitvtest.eu/bitv_test/intro/overview.html BITV-Test is available in three forms: 1. a page level self test (open to everyone after registration) 2. a design support tests with a single tester 3. a final (conformance) tests with two independent testers and a concluding arbitration process to resolve differences in both assessments. Some more features of BITV-Test: * The test procedure in form 2 and 3 is quality-controlled, e.g., the tester's page sample selection must be checked and approved by a member of the BITV-Test quality assurance team * The test procedure is fully documented at http://testen.bitvtest2.de (a full English translation is under preparation) * The web application generates a website test report as accessible PDF containing all checkpoint assessments and comments * If desired by the client, the test report is published as HTML and then permanently available for independent verification. This is what a report looks like: http://testen.bitvtest2.de/index.php?a=ti&sid=2005 * BITV-Test uses a score (five grades between "fully conforming" and "fails to conform") for rating the accessibility of pages per checkpoint. The final score is expressed as "X points out of 100" (where 100 points would be a flawless site). * BITV-Test does not separate WCAG Level A and AA. It does not offer, at the time being, separate conformance testing for WCAG on level A or level AAA -- --------------------------------------------------------------- Detlev Fischer PhD DIAS GmbH - Daten, Informationssysteme und Analysen im Sozialen Geschäftsführung: Thomas Lilienthal, Michael Zapp Telefon: +49-40-43 18 75-25 Mobile: +49-157 7-170 73 84 Fax: +49-40-43 18 75-19 E-Mail: fischer@dias.de Anschrift: Schulterblatt 36, D-20357 Hamburg Amtsgericht Hamburg HRB 58 167 Geschäftsführer: Thomas Lilienthal, Michael Zapp --------------------------------------------------------------- This e-mail is confidential.
