All: Shadi and I had an action item: http://www.w3.org/2009/04/29-er-minutes.html#action01] to explore the treatment of the <acronym> and <abbr> elements by Jaws. It turns out that the text content of these elements is read by deefault but that, by entering the Verbosity panel in Jaws (INS+V) and selecting both Abbreviations Expand and Acronyms Expand, Jaws will, in fact, read the title attributes in the <abbr> or <acronym> elements rather than the text content of those elements. Examples of this usage can be found at: http://lab.dotjay.co.uk/tests/screen-readers/abbreviations/ --> Mike Squillace IBM Human Ability and Accessibility Center W:512.286.8694 M:512.970.0066 External: http://www.ibm.com/able Internal: http://w3.ibm.com/able
