Glancing through yesterday call minutes [1], I see you discussed the really hard question of locating the subject of test results. Although I don't have a ready-to-use solution, the Validators developers have been discussing this topic quite extensively in their process of trying to bind results of different validation services together. They're trying to put up a programmatic abstraction to deal with this: http://esw.w3.org/topic/MarkupValidator_2fM12N I don't think they have come to a solution, but I just wanted to point the potential overlap, and maybe that some cooperation could help on these topics (cc Olivier for that matter) FWIW, I've seen there were discussions of trying to resolve the issue of locating a particular subset of a document using URIs and XPointer; I guess I should note this has several limitations: * it only works for XML documents * it only works for documents that have a URI * it only works for documents Again, I don't have a very good solution handy, but figured I should send my thoughts as they came...
