Hello All, There is a debate raging on the WCAG-WG list about whether validity of code should be a P1 or P2 requirement or should not be in the guidelines at all. I am not sure if this group would like to get involved but I have expressed a concern on that list as follows: Certainly some kinds of validation problems make content inaccessible. Accessibility eval tools do not check for validation issues- a tool like the W3C Validator will do that. So if one does not run a page through a validator , some accessibility issues will go undetected. The present draft of WCAG 2 also has validity of code at SC1 level for G4.1. I strongly feel it should be retained and not done away with. Does this group have any stand and is it within the scope of its charter to express an opinion to the WCAG-WG?
