Hi, It is difficult to draw the line and define what an "evaluation tool" exactly is. Some proxies, filters, and services could be used to evaluate content in some cases. Also, even though these tools may often not be considered "classical" evaluation tools, they can help in creating accessible Web sites. On the other hand, many of these tools resemble more authoring- than evaluation tools. Anyway, I propose we should not be too inflexible and drop valuable information about existing tools. We should discuss this both in the Task Force and in the main Working Group, then possibly coordinate with the Education and Outreach Working Group and the Authoring Tools Working Group as needed. Please hold off contacting these tool developers until further notice. Also, I've marked the tools in question, please let me know if there are others that need to be reconsidered for the same reason. <http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/2005/tools> Regards, Shadi -- Shadi Abou-Zahra, Web Accessibility Specialist for Europe Chair and Team Contact for the Evaluation and Repair Tools WG World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), http://www.w3.org/ Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), http://www.w3.org/WAI/ WAI-TIES Project, http://www.w3.org/WAI/TIES/ Evaluation and Repair Tools WG, http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/ 2004, Route des Lucioles -- 06560, Sophia-Antipolis -- France Voice: +33(0)4 92 38 50 64 Fax: +33(0)4 92 38 78 22
