Can
we add the following?
1. Should our processes comply to the proposed new success
criteria for wcag, including for cognitive? Currently our
processes are not useable by COGA including some relating to
voting. I see this as a big issue.
2. The balance of the needs of web accessibility evaluation
companies and people with disabilities. At the moment web
accessibility testing and evaluation companies are very well
represented in the WAI - possibly more then the people with
disabilities in some places. Do we need to get the balance
correct?
For example people from testing and evaluation companies
prefer expert testing rather than testing from people with
disabilities. Another example is an email sent to COGA that
the COGA Success criteria would require these companies to
employ someone who understands language rules or use new types
of tools, and this is not acceptable to them. I am concerned
with the weighting that these companies have with our
consensus system including for silver. Of course there are
many fantastic individuals who rise above any conflict they
may have with their employer. But there is a concern.
All the best
