Dear WAI Interest Group,
W3C WAI has updated the W3C Group Note Guidance on Applying WCAG 2 to
Non-Web ICT (WCAG2ICT) [1].
The WCAG2ICT updates were coordinated with the work to update EN 301
549. EN 301 549 is the European standard 'Accessibility requirements for
ICT products and services'. Changes since the November 2024 publication
include:
* updates from the WCAG 2.2 publication on 12 December 2024
* harmonization of some of the explanatory notes, where there was
different guidance in EN 301 549 and WCAG2ICT
* editorial changes to improve the consistency of the language and the
usability of the document's guidance
For a full list of changes, see Changes since the 15 November 2024 Note
[2].
ABOUT WCAG2ICT
WCAG2ICT describes how Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
principles, guidelines, and success criteria can be applied to non-web
information and communications technologies (ICT), specifically to
non-web documents and software. It provides informative guidance
(guidance that is not normative and does not set requirements).
For an introduction to WCAG2ICT, see WCAG2ICT Overview [3].
