Dear WAI Interest Group, Shawn Lawton Henry (W3C Director, Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI)) and Kevin White (Senior Principal Accessibility Specialist) led an interactive session at the AccessU 2025 training conference. It provided practical guidance on using W3C accessibility resources to expand your skills and your effectiveness in advancing accessibility. See the recording of Advancing Digital Accessibility with W3C WAI [1]. Topics include: * how WAI resources help you to promote that accessibility is about people [2] and improving the user experiences of people with disabilities, and that accessibility is not just about meeting standards (timestamp 10:38) * how WCAG 2.2 [3] supporting materials are being improved and WCAG 3 is years away from being completed (timestamp 9:04) * how WCAG 3 [4] differs from WCAG 2 and the new outcome-driven approach of WCAG 3 (timestamp 30:19) * how you can contribute to accessibility work at W3C WAI (time stamp 4:35) * where you can find free online resources to support you in planning, managing, designing, and developing for digital accessibility (timestamp 10:15) -- including an accessibility foundations course [5] (timestamp 50:26) The session included 30 minutes of audience questions. For more videos on digital accessibility from WAI, see the W3C WAI YouTube channel [6].
