For Review: Guidance on Applying WCAG 2.2 to Mobile Applications (WCAG2Mobile) — First Draft Note

Dear WAI Interest Group,

W3C WAI invites you to comment on the direction and approach of the first Draft Note of
Guidance on Applying WCAG 2.2 to Mobile Applications (WCAG2Mobile) <https://www.w3.org/TR/wcag2mobile-22/>

This document is a work in progress.

    Overview

WCAG2Mobile describes how Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 principles, guidelines, and success criteria can be applied to mobile applications, including native mobile apps, mobile web apps, and hybrid apps using web components inside native mobile apps. W3C does not have separate guidelines for mobile web content.

WCAG2Mobile expands on WCAG2ICT <https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/non-web-ict/>, which provides high-level guidance on applying WCAG 2 to information and communication technology (ICT), including mobile applications.

For more information on related work, see Mobile Accessibility at W3C <https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/mobile/>.

    For review

This draft uses expand/collapse functionality to help you compare specific WCAG and WCAG2ICT requirements with wording in this document for mobile apps.

We would particularly like your comments on the following:

  * Does structuring the guidance using expand/collapse functionality work for you?
  * Is the mobile accessibility guidance wording easy to understand and not ambiguous?
  * Is there anything missing in the approach we've taken for the mobile accessibility guidance?

    Comments

To comment, please open a new issue in the MATF GitHub repository <https://github.com/w3c/matf/issues>. Create a separate GitHub issue for each topic, rather than commenting on multiple topics in a single issue.

If it’s not feasible for you to use GitHub, email your comments to public-mobile-a11y-tf@w3.org. Please put your comments in the body of the message, not as an attachment.

    Thanks!
