Some enhancements for the Demo

Dear all,

As discussed during the previous call, please send your suggestions for
updating the Before and After Demo [1] according to the findings of the
WAI-AGE Literature Review [2].

[2] <http://www.w3.org/WAI/WAI-AGE/comparative>

Please find below a draft suggestion for discussion of some of the user
requirements identified by the literature review that we could implement
into the Demo:

1. Overall page design for implementation on all the Demo pages
  - Avoid horizontal scrolling
  - Provide text size adjustment link
  - Provide "breadcrumbs"

2. Text styling for the 'terms of reference' on the 'tickets' page
  - Use a sans serif font
  - Avoid bold body-text
  - Avoid underlined text
  - Avoid text in all capitals
  - Left justified text (with L2R scripts)

3. Text styling for all pages but especially for the 'articles' page
  - Use increased line spacing
  - Provide 'white space' page margins

4. Look & feel of the main navigation menu bar
  - Use dark text on light background
  - Use static menus (not fly-out / pull-down)

5. Behavior of links on all pages but especially for the 'entry' page
  - Ensure links change colour after visit
  - Present links as lists
  - Clearly separate links
  - Links should be large in size

6. Behavior of the 'header' and 'right navigation bar'
  - Avoid moving (and scrolling) text
  - Avoid blinking content
  - Avoid animations (unless requested)

7. Behavior of the 'forms' page (will need server-side scripting)
  - Provide clear error messages for forms
  - Accommodate misspellings, hyphens and common variations within forms

8. Techniques for meeting reading level on the 'articles' page
  - Use an active voice for writing
  - Use short sentences and paragraphs
  - Write clearly with important information at the start

Looking forward to your feedback!

Best,
   Shadi
