Webex at <https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Member/internal-w3process/2019May/0000.html> IRC is #w3process Log of prior meeting at … I don’t recall, it’s been too long. Usual meeting time: SECOND and FOURTH WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH AT 7AM PACIFIC Overall purpose: finish up Process 2020. The AC informal review <https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-w3process/2020Apr/0002.html> is open to the 31st but we’ll probably have a good idea of what the set of issues to discuss is. 1) Assign scribe, etc., 2) Agenda bash. 3) Discuss and close-out issues the AB discussed. I put together an analysis <https://www.w3.org/Member/wiki/P2020-issues> for the AB, and they discussed. 3.1) The AB would like us to discuss and propose a conclusion for 388 Limit scope of delegation on Process, Patent Policy, and CEPC evolution <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/issues/388> I suspect that our choices are roughly: * revert; propose that we revert to the 2019 text, and continue to study * propose adoption of the text suggested <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/issues/388#issuecomment-632730884> * propose a different text (the initial text in the issue doesn’t seem to be a candidate any more) 3.2) The AB did not close discussion on "Candidate Recommendation" is no longer an accurate term <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/issues/402> The question in the title — nomenclature — is probably not pressing. But there is actually more in there. Please read and come ready to discuss and reach consensus: * do we need to do something in 2020? * if so, what, specifically? 3.3) The AB suggests PSIG be asked for review and comment on * Patent Policy application to Proposed Changes #403 <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/issues/403> We won’t open this issue for discussion unless someone asks. 3.4) We will only discuss other issues on <https://www.w3.org/Member/wiki/P2020-issues> if requested, presumably because you disagree with the proposed handling. I’ll ask if any others there need discussion. 4) Issues created since the triage done above <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+created%3A%3E%3D2020-05-20>. One at the time of writing. 4.1) <https://github.com/w3c/w3process/issues/404> Clarify W3C Decision This is old; * the current text appeared in 2017 <https://www.w3.org/2017/Process-20170301/#ReviewAppeal> * and was lightly edited (from this perspective) from 2015 <https://www.w3.org/2015/Process-20150901/>: > A W3C decision is one where the Director (or the Director's delegate) has exercised the role of assessing consensus after an Advisory Committee review of an Charter Proposal, after a Call for Review of a Proposed Recommendation, after a Call for Review of a Proposed Recommendation, after a Proposal to Rescind a W3C Recommendation, and after a Proposed Process Document review. 5) expression of thanks to the editors for their work The usual closers: 6) Next meeting. Wed June 10th. 7) Any other business. David Singer Manager, Software Standards, Apple Inc.
