I thought it would be helpful to outline the way that many groups organize their discussions and produce reports. Generally the steps are: 1. identify some use cases that are relevant to the group's goals 2. figure out the requirements for specifications that would address the use cases 3. identify any existing specifications that can address some or all of the requirements (gap analysis) 4. publish proposals for new specifications that address the gaps (iterate the proposals with any feedback) 5. possibly, if we decide that we want to take the next step, ask the W3C to officially standardize the proposals by sending them to a Working Group (or groups) or by starting a new Working Group. We would probably want to publish a report at each stage so that we can get feedback from other interested people. So if anyone has thoughts about use cases that they'd like to cover, please send them to the list and we can start talking about them. Debbie
