schema:Animal, AnimalShelter, and ImageNet

There is a schema:AnimalShelter in schema.org core.

Would it be appropriate to have experts  select a few relevant attributes
for a schema:Animal also in schema.org core?

I would imagine that there could be some potential applications for
schema:Animal with the latest deep learning ImageNet data.
