5. Main Topic: Can the US Transcript and Europass Diploma Supplement be compatible?


The 1EdTEch Digital Credentials Project Group is currently working to provide formal guidance on how to represent traditional US Higher Education Academic transcripts in The Comprehensive Learner Record data standard as a verifiable credential. Representing traditional transcripts in this manner will enable greater interoperability, the ability to represent course work as independent credentials within the context of the learners' entire academic career.  The learner can either share their full transcript or choose the relevant parts for the opportunity they are pursuing. The conceptual model being developed to represent essential sections of the transcript should be extensible to the Europass Diploma Supplement and enable a structured digital representation of that credential as well. Alignment of their respective conceptual models  should enable a pathway toward a more interoperable credential exchange  between the EEU and US.
