Re: Transcript data model

Snorre: there is a revision of the CLRv1, to which Joshua referred to, creatively named CLRv2, which is natively a verifiable credential. It is in or very very close to final candidate status. I think data model is now fixed and the only thing holding up its release as to 1EdTech members is the accompanying implementation guide.

It uses the OBbv3 as the ‘atomic’ building block for courses in a transcript, i.e., the OBv3 data model is bit for bit equivalent to the course representation in the CLRv2, allowing the transcript to be parsed into the individual courses that are together embedded into the CLRv2, and, allows them to be individually signed so that after decomposing the CLRv2 the holder can choose to send only those courses that they wish to the relying party, and they will be verifiable.

Happy to talk with you more about if you wish. I’ll try to get an update on the timing of the release. Have a native VC/LER following the format that transcripts, at least in the US follow, and supported strongly by AACRAO might be helpful.

Cheers,
  Phil
