Good day. I want to thank you for clear writing article (specification) 
http://www.w3.org/TR/ttml10-sdp-us/
It took me two days to implement this solution as karaoke style subtitles 
in ttml format for HTML5 video tag. Sad it works only with Microsoft IE11.
It took me three days to do same thing with vtt format with worse result 
and many things that I did not understood from their article (specification).

Karaoke style  working in Chrome, Opera, Safari, 
Firefox and IE will show only two lines, no formating

Karaoke style working only in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 
all other browsers will not show subtitles (closed captions) at all
