Hi Philippe, thanks a lot for the wakeup call. In yesterday's call we agreed to recharter and focus on finalizing the technical protocol spec (TPE). My proposed time line (not yet agreed with the team) could be: - Implementation studies: H1/2017 - Implementation study report: July 2017 (e.g. publishing a note) - Finalizsation / Transition of TPE into Rec: September 2017 I will try to propose an agreed upon new charter by end of month. By default, I would update the current charter (mainly the delivreables / milestones section): https://www.w3.org/2011/tracking-protection/charter Question: - Is an updated version of the current charter (with new milestones etc.) good enough? - Are there aspects of our current charter that no longer satisfy the 2016 expectations of W3C? - If there are shortcomings, do you have examples of a charter that does not have these shortcomings? Naturally, any other feedback is welcome, too! The tracking protection working group got extended until the end of December 2016. Any further extension beyond will be subjected to a proper AC review. This means that, if we want to continue the Group beyond December, we should send an updated charter and/or plan to the AC in early November 2016, give them 4 weeks to review, and give 2 weeks to the Director to answer. And I need to get approval from W3M to ask the AC sooner. What's the status of the discussion regarding a plan to finish the DNT document? Without such plan by the end of the month, I'm afraid that the only alternative will be to close the Group after December. The plan would need to outline a rough date for updating the current CR document (assuming we do need substantive changes to it), implementation experience rough plan to move out of CR, and a rough date for moving the document to Proposed Recommendation. Fyi, I don't have a set of specific dates in mind so I'm entirely open to proposals. Please, don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. Thank you, Philippe, with his Project Manager hat on.
