Hello Do Not Track folks: The email below went out this morning to my personal mailing list, which I use a few times a year for publishing and other updates, and which is administered through FPF. Quite a few personal responses have come back already, including from a number of people in our Do Not Track process, so I thought I would send this to the group on the same day. In terms of the DNT process, I expect to participate the same as if I were not switching jobs. We have our F2F in May and Last Call scheduled for July, with follow-up work scheduled after that. We should stay extremely focused on those deadlines. To avoid excess traffic on the DNT list, please do not reply to the group. You are welcome to send me email to peter@peterswire.net, and please send to info@futureofprivacy.org if you would like to receive occasional emails on my list in the future. Best to you all, Peter P.S. As a couple of private emails have noted today, there is one obvious wedding present -- a great Do Not Track standard for all concerned. :-) Dear Friends and Colleagues: This email updates you on a geographic and job change that I will be making this summer. As of August, I will be shifting my academic home to Georgia Tech, in Atlanta. I will be the Nancy J. & Lawrence P. Huang Professor at the Scheller College of Business, with courtesy appointments as a Professor in the School of Public Policy and the College of Computing. I will be in the law and ethics program of Scheller. With this shift, I will remain active as a Senior Fellow at the Future of Privacy Forum, and expect to be back in D.C. quite often. I will continue as Chair of the Tracking Protection Working Group of the W3C, where we are working on the global Do Not Track standard, and I will retain my other professional affiliations. With this change, I will no longer be a professor at the Moritz College of Law, of the Ohio State University. The law school and its community have been wonderful for me this past 17 years. My personal life has shifted, with my engagement to Professor Annie Antón of Georgia Tech. I am now honored and delighted to be joining the faculty at Georgia Tech, with its world-class role in technology and innovation. Going forward, my email, phone number, and personal web page will remain the same: peter@peterswire.net<mailto:peter@peterswire.net>, (240) 994.4142, www.peterswire.net<http://www.peterswire.net/>. My new mailing address, which functions now, will be: Professor Peter Swire Georgia Institute of Technology Scheller College of Business 800 West Peachtree St., NW Atlanta, GA 30308-1149 We are living in an incredible period of change and challenge on issues of privacy, cybersecurity, and information policy more generally. I look forward to working with you on these issues. Peter Note: The Huang Professorship is subject to final confirmation within the University governance structure. Professor Peter P. Swire C.
