gkatsev has just created a new issue for https://github.com/w3c/webvtt: == [IR] regions edge cases test failing == [Region edge cases](https://github.com/web-platform-tests/wpt/blob/master/webvtt/parsing/file-parsing/tests/regions-edge-case.html) test is failing. This test verifies that some edge cases around parsing of regions in the webvtt files are supported. Firefox's parser seems to be very strict and stops parsing early. Safari parsers things out correctly but it's non-standard API means the tests don't pass. Shimming the correct API can make it pass.
