https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=28523 Bug ID: 28523 Summary: Nonsensical requirement on authors Product: TextTracks CG Version: unspecified Hardware: PC URL: http://dev.w3.org/html5/webvtt/ OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: WebVTT Assignee: dave.null@w3.org Reporter: simonp@opera.com QA Contact: public-texttracks@w3.org CC: philipj@opera.com, silviapfeiffer1@gmail.com http://dev.w3.org/html5/webvtt/#h3_conformance-for-authors [[ The Parsing section of this specification defines in some detail the required processing for valid and also for invalid documents. It is a little more tolerant to author errors than the syntax allows, so as to reject less documents and provide for extensibility. However, authors must not take advantage of it. Only documents that follow the Syntax specification are valid. ]] "However, authors must not take advantage of it." This requirement make no sense. I suggest it is dropped. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the QA Contact for the bug.
