All, The W3C Technical Architecture Group has resolved to close issue putMediaType-48 [1]. The solution to this issue is presented in the TAG finding "The Disposition of Names in an XML Namespace" [2] that was published on 9 January 2006. Abstract: This Finding addresses the question of whether or not adding new names to a (published) namespace is a sound practice. Since then, the W3C policy for XML namespace allocation has been aligned with the finding and the new version makes explicit reference to the finding. The TAG agreed that the publication of these documents closes the issue. V.
