mediaTypeManagement-45: What is the appropriate level of granularity of the media type mechanism?

Hello,

At their 14 May ftf meeting [1], the TAG accepted issue
mediaTypeManagement-45 [2]: What is the appropriate level of granularity
of the media type mechanism?

The TAG raised this issue to discuss issues such as paramterization of
media type strings to provide additional granularity for different
format versions.

Chris Lilley accepted an action item at the meeting to draft
a finding on this topic.
