I'm interested in attending the W3C Workshop on Semantic Web for Life Sciences and have attached a short position paper. My interest arises from my research in scientific annotation and collaboration technologies and background in Grid computing, combined with our laboratory's growing life science programs. While our work with RDF/OWL/LSIDs is preliminary at this point, we have a number of projects aimed at Semantic Data Grids and I think this workshop will be a great place to discuss potential strategies. One of the projects that will fund our work has an official start on October 1 and I'll be working over the next few weeks thinking more about some of the ideas in the whitepaper. Thus, if it is acceptable, I may be able to update/expand the position paper before the workshop. Thanks, Jim <<DataVirtualization.Myers.doc>> James D.
