hi, by the way, i just found that... > -- HTML document "SKOS Simple Knowledge Organization System RDF Schema" > http://www.w3.org/TR/2009/CR-skos-reference-20090317/skos ...is actually content negotiable :) this is probably by virtue of apache multiviews [1] default conneg spotting that there are two files in the directory, one called skos.rdf and one called skos.html. i did... GET /TR/2009/CR-skos-reference-20090317/skos HTTP/1.1 Host: www.w3.org Accept: application/rdf+xml ...and got... HTTP/1.x 200 OK Date: Tue, 07 Apr 2009 10:10:01 GMT Server: Apache/2 Content-Location: skos.rdf Vary: negotiate,accept,accept-charset TCN: choice Last-Modified: Mon, 16 Mar 2009 17:55:40 GMT Etag: "7054-465402894df00;4658cfd84ac80" Accept-Ranges: bytes Content-Length: 28756 Cache-Control: max-age=31536000 Expires: Wed, 07 Apr 2010 10:10:01 GMT P3P: policyref="http://www.w3.org/2001/05/P3P/p3p.xml" Connection: close Content-Type: application/rdf+xml; qs=0.9 so in fact, http://www.w3.org/TR/2009/CR-skos-reference-20090317/skos is a "generic document" [2]. cheers, alistair [1] http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/content-negotiation.html [2] http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/NOTE-cooluris-20081203/#r303gendocument -- Alistair Miles Senior Computing Officer Image Bioinformatics Research Group Department of Zoology The Tinbergen Building University of Oxford South Parks Road Oxford OX1 3PS United Kingdom Web: http://purl.org/net/aliman Email: alistair.miles@zoo.ox.ac.uk Tel: +44 (0)1865 281993
