Antoine, Not sure exactly that you mean by "that kind of things". BS 8723-4 is packed with advice about when and how to build mappings between concepts in different vocabularies, from an intellectual point of view, rather than a technology viewpoint. In a way it is all simple stuff, but you don't find it collected anywhere else, and it is not always easy to articulate. Publication expected autumn 2007. cheers Stella ***************************************************** Stella Dextre Clarke Information Consultant Luke House, West Hendred, Wantage, Oxon, OX12 8RR, UK Tel: 01235-833-298 Fax: 01235-863-298 SDClarke@LukeHouse.demon.co.uk ***************************************************** > > Just a brief note to agree with Libo and with Doug and Ceri > that it is > > vital (for human users as well as for automated applications) to be > > able to distinguish easily between an inter-vocabulary > mapping and an > > intra-vocabulary relationship. > Yes, but don't loose the ability to use your intra-vocabulary > relationship between different schemes, for the case of > well-controlled > vocabulary extensions! > Does BS 8723 deal with that kind of things? > > Cheers, > > Antoine > > > The forthcoming BS8723-4 has some > > recommendations for the style of tags which should be used > to display > > the mappings and the relationships to users.
