Dear All, Per my actions recorded in [1] and [2], I should advertise the Working Group about the NASA licence for using its images and add a NASA attribution text to the Image Annotation editor's draft [4]. The NASA copyright notification is available at [3]. In particular, they state the following: "- NASA materials may not be used to state or imply the endorsement by NASA or by any NASA employee of a commercial product, service or activity, or used in any other manner that might mislead. - NASA should be acknowledged as the source of its material. - It is unlawful to falsely claim copyright or other rights in NASA material. - [...]" and about the photography: "Photographs are not protected by copyright unless noted. If copyrighted, permission should be obtained from the copyright owner prior to use. If not copyrighted, photographs may be reproduced and distributed without further permission from NASA. If a recognizable person appears in a photograph, use for commercial purposes may infringe a right of privacy or publicity and permission should be obtained from the recognizable person." Therefore, I have modified the caption of the NASA image which is now: "Apollo 7 Saturn rocket launch - October, 10th 1968. Image courtesy of NASA, available at GRIN, used with permission." acknowledging the NASA provenance of the image. The latest version of the Editor's Draft is available at [4], timestamp Editors' Draft $Date: 2006/03/07 09:31:23 $ $Revision: 1.150 $ Sincerely.
