Dan, Alistair, and I attended DC-2005 in Madrid last week and had a chance to discuss the Vocabulary Management note. We had a brief opportunity to discuss this with Eric Miller as well. DCMI has a concrete problem to solve in this regard inasmuch clicking on the URIs of a Dublin Core term currently takes users to a screenful of angle brackets at the top of the RDF schema, and we currently see this as a problem (try clicking on http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/title). We considered different approaches to improving on this using content negotiation or GRDDL and, ideally, would like to agree on a common approach among SKOS, FOAF, and Dublin Core. Solving this problem would provide the basis for a short note on the basis of the current draft, however some further discussion is needed to agree on a solution. We think that a solution would provide a nice example for others to follow. Such a tightly scoped note seems like the most realistic path forward between now and February given our schedules. Unfortunately, I have the usual problem with attending the telecon this evening. If Dan or Alistair are on the call, perhaps you could describe a bit more of our discussions.
