We are pleased to announce the release of Protege 3.1, including the
OWL Plugin 2.1

Protege is arguably the most widely used development tool for OWL
and RDF ontologies. Protege provides a graphical user interface for
editing and visualizing models, and is based on an extensible open-
source architecture. Protege-OWL provides a comprehensive Java API
for Semantic Web applications and Protege extensions.

The new 3.1 release has been tested and stabilized for several
weeks. It implements massive performance improvements and bug fixes
compared to previous releases. After two years of rapid evolution, the
system is now stabilized and ready for production work.
