* Libby: | At the tech plenary in Boston, the ADTF group was given the authority to | decide the criteria for inclusion in the task force's list of Semantic Web | applications and demos. The main criteria are here: | | http://www.w3.org/2005/04/07-swbp-minutes#item07 | | and the minutes they came from are here: | | http://www.w3.org/2005/03/03-swbp-minutes#item03 There is also relevant discussion here: http://www.w3.org/2005/03/03-swbp-minutes#item13 As you will recall, I was concerned to have a clear definition in order to know whether or not TM applications would qualify. My recollection of the discussion (partly backed up by the minutes) is as follows: 1) There was no consensus that being a TM app is sufficient qualification to be included on the list of applications and use cases. 2) There was no objection to Guus' position that the scope of ADTF should be restricted to RDF/RDFS/OWL. 3) The jury is still out on whether TMs should be regarded as part of the Semantic Web. 4) Some people (at least) felt that as a consequence of nos 1-3, the ADTF should NOT be portrayed as a list of "Semantic Web applications and use cases" but rather as a list of "RDF/OWL applications and use cases" I agree with the latter conclusion.
