Re: [OpenType] Color bitmap strikes in OpenType

Looking at this a little closer, the proposal calls for bitmap-only fonts. It seems much more natural to have these work the way existing bitmap fonts do with the ability to define a set of sizes for which the bitmaps are used and sizes for which outlines (either existing glyph formats or SVG-in-OpenType glyphs) are used.

Subject: [OpenType] Color bitmap strikes in OpenType

Message from OpenType list:

Hi list,

Today we (Google) released this small specification:

  https://color-emoji.googlecode.com/git/specification/v1.html

Plus tools to put those tables together:

  https://code.google.com/p/color-emoji/

This is now implemented in FreeType. Is there interest to integrate this back
into OpenType?

Regards,
